Intel RebrandingFriday, December 30th, 2005Intel, the world’s biggest chipmaker, will launch a new corporate slogan next week as part of a major rebranding. Intel will also change its logo, replacing the one featuring a lowered “e” with one showing an oval swirl surrounding the company name. The firm wants to re-position itself as providing the technology behind many digital products, not just PCs. What are your first impressions on this one? Source: BBC Jaguar’s Not So ‘Gorgeous’ CampaignFriday, December 30th, 2005Jaguar has been promoting its new XK model with the “Gorgeous” campaign. While the car itself is a marvel, the campaign is just disappointing. Slogans include “Gorgeous trumps everything”, “Gorgeous doesn’t care what others are doing” and “Gorgeous can get in everywhere”–all the while showing supermodels you’d expect from Calvin Klein rather than from a top automotive brand. The advertisements don’t even show the car half the time. All this is really sad because a company of Jaguar’s stature could be beyond this kind of ad strategy. You can check out Jaguar’s Gorgeous campaign (including the commercial videos) here. Interactive: T-MobileThursday, December 29th, 2005T-Mobile Britan has come out with an interactive streaking game called “The Beautiful Game”. A fun little interactive site that lets you play as female streakers and run across the field. Enjoy.
