    McDonalds

Here is a very intersting stunt by McDonalds, promoting their new spicy chicken burger. Instead of going for the obvious “spicy” ideas of fire spitting people/ sprinklers going off/ etc etc, they decided to do something new. What a great way to turn a boring billboard into a conversation piece.

The McDonalds stunt ad is different, no doubt, but everyone knows that what McDonalds calls spicy is probably just bland… to suggest that it needs a fire truck to cool it down is just nonsense.

But the contrast between that and the World Water Day stickers (reminding us how some people have to walk 20 kms to find a tap) cannot be ignored. it’s simply absurd that an ad. agency with McD as a client can’t see that there’s something wrong with pouring away gallons of water.

      Great point Nigel!

Kind of ironic after just reading the world water piece above about wasting water.

      It’s stil a great stunt though :)

Ditto to Nigel’s point. This does more to further my negative opinion of McDs than anything else.

not to mention the saftey concerns of a flooded sidewalk & a sudden patch of wet pavement on what is presumably a busy roadway…

the stunt probably lasted for few short minutes so the press could come and take pictures of this new inovative interactive way of saying spicy. That’s cause I hope they knew better than to waist water for profit when they always plead as a supporter of charity and social envolvment. well, enough said.

sure it may have only gone for a few minutes a s aphoto opp, but thats not the point. the point is - they didnt need to do it but they did anyway. it still contradicts what they say they are trying to be - ie good social citizens.

A agree with Nigel. I dont think its a clever stunt either. If I passed by I would think “mmm spicy burger let me go and try it” but more like why the hell are they wasting so much water. Maybe try wasting some coke instead ;)

Meanwhile, a family burns to death due to a shortages of fire trucks…

Great stunt though, I must say.
