BrandMarker
Monochrom’s BrandMaker did a study to attempt to evaluate the actual power of brands by making Austrian people draw a total of twelve logos. Nine international, three typically European from memory, 25 people per brand. Check out some of the many logos drawn by people.

Interesting depiction of the Apple logo, especially givent eh court case that’s kicking off at the moment between Apple Records and Apple (of iTunes and Mac fame)… someone should submit that as evidence of confusion and cross-contamination of brands (something that Apple Mac promised to never do with regards to the record label/music indutry!)

Interesting quote about the Apple logo, especially given the fact that people recollection of a certain company’s logo has absolutely nothing to do with confusing the company that makes iPods with another who represents the Beatles. Someone should submit that as evidence that most people don’t understand the concept of causality! The court case has nothing to do with logos, it has to do with the name and it’s associattions within specific industries. Strangely, I think the person who drew that maple leaf looking adidas logo might have the shoe company confused with Canada. I smell a lawsuit!

Interesting that most of the participants were drawing the old bp logo. I’m deeply suspicious of the new one and the “beyond petroleum” idea…. yeah, right.
