So, why exactly would the model in the picture need plastic surgery? And what happens if you don’t drink at the “drink here” spot but, let’s say, on the exact opposite side?
The idea is pretty good but it has the fundamental problem that people actually have to hold the cup that way or it won’t work. Too much effort is expected from a person who might actually not like being “used” as part of an ad, especially when they aren’t fond of their noses.
i just feel like everything is now repeating itself..like the with handbags and now this cup..its a little repetative for me, and i think they should begin to think of new concepts rather than take the old ones and redesign them differently…..
Ok Ivan. Don’t try to defend your piece. If you send to a site that shows work for everyone talk about, you should be prepared for that. Otherwise just keep with you. I agree with Maryam. Old concept, too much photoshop.
ok so what happens, when the person isn’t a white female…. kinda strange. Since the whole world isn’t white and female. Anyway, I think plastic surgery is scary and one should only get it if they are they have some form of elephantitis.
heyyy ivan, it looks nice, i like it.. but i just think the concept is repeatative, other than that.. its good. Didn’t know you designed it..do u have a site?!
to be honest, I think it’s disgusting that plastic surgery can advertise like this. Plastic surgery isn’t funny and isn’t that common to be put on a paper cup. We’re still talking about a very serious medical procedure.
This ad is certainly interesting. And yes, too many things have to align in order for it to work, but I think people might purposely hold the cup like that just to play around to see what “its like.” While plastic surgery is icredibly serious it is no longer uncommon. I can see how it can be offensive to someone to put a generic nose and lip on the cup, but I bet less people will use that cup than watch Dr. 90210.
I agree with CBETA, the fun it’s to try to fit it in and see how it looks. (My english is very crappy, sorry).
The idea is great… plastic surgery its not a serious thing… not since MTV makes a TV show about it. In fact, plastic surgery it’s just a choice of someone, nothing to be puttin’ your nose in.
Just plain stupid. First of all for the cause and secondly because the person holding the cup can´t see the effect (and that might as well be good so that the person holding the cup doesn´t get a distorted self-image). It´s just a cheap trick for an awful business.
You know, anything that makes a person want to interact with an ad is a good thing. I know a lot of people have commented that they don’t think this would be effective, but I disagree entirely. It’s like a toy and an ad. If I saw that and was with friends, I’d get it right away and start messing with it. I can see a bunch of people passing it around. It’d be memorable, which is the point. It’s genius, if you ask me.
Seems like there is a wave of these ads lately, the first couple were great. Now its just too much. Besides, the Gun one for the crime book store which apeared here last month was the best of these kind of ads. This one is just like the others.
I think the response by your blog, alone explains the value of this advertisment. Frankly, I think it’s super fun and creative. Being from Seattle perhaps gives me an additional bias!
