aaargh, my mistake, the agency was JWT
Looks like Pedro Lourenço´s 2003 collection…
this is awesomeeee.. veryyy creative!! awesomeeeee
a shoe ad that looks like an apparel ad. nice touch
great idea! The Che picture sounds to be used a lot in ads today, but it works well
Very creative, i like it. I know the first one is Che, but not sure if the others are supposed to represent anybody. I guess not.
Ew, nice use of a communist to sell sneakers. I’ll pass. Better dead than Red.
Come on, you ignorant Americans. Grow up a bit. Read. Learn something. Get some culture. The guy on the first pic is most definitely NOT Ernesto Guevara, el Che. Take a look to the original pic and compare.
The guy on the pic is M. José MarÃa Aznar, a fascist-like politician who happened to serve as a Prime Minister in Spain (1996-2003).
And for those of you who are wondering – no, Spain is not anywhere near Mexico. In fact, it is not even in South America. It is located somewhere in Western Europe.
Unbelievable, isn’t it?
Jeduthun: Who’s the ignorant American here? If you bothered to click on Wojtek’s link in the first comment, you’d find these images in the advertising section of Adrzej Dragan’s portfolio. There you would see that he titled the portrait in question “Che Quevara,” not an obscure-to-non-Spaniards politician.
How myopic are you that you didn’t recognize such an international icon?
Well, considering that I’m not American -thank God- I hardly could be an ignorant American. Having said that,
- Of course Dragan titled the portrait “Che Guevara”! The reference to Alberto Korda worlf-famous picture is more than oobvious (http://www.poster.de/Che-Guevara/Che-Guevara-Portrait-5001050.html)
- However, and despite the reference, the person featured in the painting is NOT Ernesto Guevara. And it could hardly be so, because Korda’s picture is still protected by copyright (although Korda’s heirs do not own the rights to it).
- Besides the overall similarity to Guevara’s picture, the person depicted is most definitely José MarÃa Aznar. You may not have heard of him (I won’t blame you for it!), but you can check out the striking resemblance.
So, IMHO: Dragan did inspire himself from the Che’s portrait. However, owing to copyright issues he must have modified Guevara’s traits and made him look like this Aznar guy.
Efectivamente la foto del Che (comunista) es Assnar, un polÃtico de España que deriva hacia la extrema derecha.
Please, don’t fight before visit deeply andej’s website. The final image really looks like Aznar, but if you click on the photo on andrej’s site you will find a link to the making of the pic. Conclusion, the morphing outcomes unfortunally offers an Aznar image, but I imagine was not the aim of the author.
Pues el parecido es casi incuestionable. El autor y el polÃtico han sido muy desafortunados porque los dos personajes pertenecen a dos ideologÃas polÃticas totalmente opuestas.
god, spain is in europe between france and africa near portugal
es palito ortega
I think this is a piece of really good creative work!
Anyone knows if you can get hold of a copy of these posters, and if so where?
Fascista??
Wow – what an aweosome campaign. If only more companies would adopt this level of creativity, advertising would be more of an art form.
That was made by JWT Poland
