[…] This brilliant ad for Kilroy Travels (shown above) is an awesome outdoors visual for people to get going to Antarctica. Makes me want to go to Antarctica. […]
Aircrafts being one of the biggest contributors to the green house effect - and the melting of the polar caps, I think this is probably one of the most cynical and stupid, campaings I have ever seen.
I sincerly hope it was a projectgroup of secret environmental activists that came up with the idea.
I saw a WWF ambient by O&M Beijing, whereby they have a Polar Bear ice sculpture displayed in a busy city street. It was in the middle of December but in a warmer winter day than usual, therefore the Polar Bear melted. It’s for Global Warming Awareness. And this is definitely more relevant than the lame Kilroy Travels.
I wasn’t aware that Antarctica had a tourism industry - didn’t think anyone went there much besides researchers and (formerly) explorers. Guess I need to get up to speed. I also thought it was a bit cynical. I think this would be a better campaign for the Arctic, since Antarctica is more than just ice.
