The left page has the image of the knife, as held on edge sitting on a marble back. The facing right page was cut to indicate that even as an image, the knife is sharp.
Interesting? Intelligent? It is a tired idea that was quickly executed and not even fully thought out. Here is a good example of bad white space. The lack of creativity on the boring white page to the right is the first problem. At least throw up a picture of Van Gogh with his ear cut off. Overused still, but would make it student book worthy at least. Scissors cut paper, I want my kitchen knives to cut the crap out of anything, anything but a sheet of blank white paper.
Yes, clearly i am “jelous” of this “ideam”. I truly stepped out of bounds with my opinion. Lucky for me one of the advertising gods, Jay, stepped in to lead me down the path of rrighteousness.
I like it, think it’s a ‘quick win’ - not the most amazing thing have ever seen but if I was a punter flicking through the magazine it would certainly make me stop for a second - that’s what white apace does in a mag and that;s what advertising is supposed to do. It’s not aimed as Ad people themselves (remember!!)
Cheers. xx
this knife cuts a paper with no afford. no one handles it, i dont know..even the image of this knife cuts a paper maybe this add tells:)..otherwise the rest of the pages should be torn at least and no more space for anything in the magasine;) it reminded me an add in turkish tv, (it wasnt an effective add,but..) : A famous actor only stares at and the glasses of the vitrin(?) were broken, but the hero of the add i mean the main object they are promoting, stand still… anyway..this add shows the function in minimum: this knife cuts…its ok.nice

Yawn:
looks like someone is jelous of this concept. This is a solid ideam that hasn’t been done before. It doesn’t matter if its student or not.
