I don’t know if I really understand exactly what they’re trying to communicate. I mean…I get it, but I don’t. Still, a very cool idea, and new/refreshing from McDonald’s “I’m lovin’ it” campaign.
What’s the idea? Fries are long and thin, just like columns of type on a newspaper page? Okay, but so what?
This is trying so hard to overcome the fact that there is no idea. I can just hear the account weasel telling the client: “This redefines the boundaries of traditional newspaper ads, blah blah blah…”
“No time to stop? Drive Thru.”

This hard-to-read text is brought you by McDonald’s.

The copy isn’t part of the ad. They just coloured the newspaper story copy to look like fries.
