Is it the first time you come on an ad site?
Did’nt you see mubaï ads in English? Spanish ads in English? Italian ads in english?
it’s for the Festivals. For English websites. But of course those ads have been done in french!
I’m not from this agency. Just to say that I saw them in France.
I’m going to have to agree to disagree on this one. Unless these pieces are trying to be ironic, I think they’re poor representation for an ad agency.
The writing is not well crafted (I can give a little leeway here as it’s their second language) and the art direction is mediocre at best. These are supposed to represent your agency, and you send out an all type ad with sloppy kerning? And as for the construction sign backgrounds, they’re a good illustration of what can be done in photoshop, but they look like just that: something someone did in photoshop.
The concept is also a bit underdeveloped. What exactly are they trying to say? “We don’t care if it’s effective, as long as it’s good”? I get that you want to do good work, but at the sacrifice of sales? We’re in the business of selling things. That’s the point.
Sorry to go off like this, but as a portfolio school student readying myself to go into the business, I hear people say all the time “it’s all about the work.” And that it will pay off to do good work. But if this passes for good, what exactly am I shooting for?
Then again, I may be completely off base and have just wasted 10 minutes of my life. I suppose I’ll find out soon enough.
Oh - and what does detergent ads have to do with it? Is there some kind of memo I missed stating that detergent ads are especially moronic? Because I’m fairly certain that is reserved for pharmaceutical & “Male Enhancement” ads.
And promotional pieces are ads. Just smaller & more targeted.

Not a big fan of these ads. I mean what point to the really get across advertising good… regardless if its bad.. sounds kinda homer simpson’sh & if its self promotion how does this in anyway… communicate whats unique about that agency.
Deanna, as a writer of pharma “male enhancement” ads, I’d just like to say that you should try writing creative, insightful work under the thumb of the FDA before criticizing those of us that do.

Just wondering why they’re in English, then. Nice work.

Yeah, I have to agree with Mike. Are they trying to ironic or what? These are not good ads.

They are not ads though, they are promotional pi eces.

No, sadly it’s not the first time I “come on an ad site”. Although penii like you do remind me of why I don’t “come on” more often.

I second what Mike says. And I can’t read them - the copy structure is frustrating. It makes me miss the message - thus defeating the entire purpose.

I’m not saying these are great. But they’re okay (and we have to forgive the sloppy English since it’s a translation).
As for the bad kerning - Mike, road signs HAVE bad kerning.
In any case, they’re better than the 600 visual pun pieces of shite I see on such a regular basis.

Stai su!…
Nel caso vi sentiste dei pubblicitari incompresi, dei quali nessuno accetta le idee, potete consolarvi appendendovi in camera un cartello come questo.
O come gli altri due visibili su Advertising/Design Goodness…
