    Eatalica

An ambient media exercise to promote Eatalica burgers. The copy on the board says: ” Ogling at the burger may involuntarily cause drooling which may in turn lead to a wet floor. Issued for your safety
by the management of Eatalica burgers. Nice idea.

    Agency: 1pointsize.

I think the deliberate abuse of warning signs for commercial purposes is the worst idea ever. Even if this perhaps is the most innocent example, It harms the impact of the next warning sign which may be meant serious again.

There are some things that shouldn’t be done for advertisement effects. One is putting up fake warning signs that look like real ones.

Ah come on! This is a nice idea, and its a “Caution Slippery” sign. It works very well with this idea.

how many freddy’s are there (and which one is the evil one)?

i agree that this is a good use of ambient and pretty clever. but on the other hand i can see how this may lead to a lawsuit or two.

Kenny: I can’t help it, I was named that way. :)

Adguy: As I said, a slippery when wet sign may very well be the most innocent example. However, I think warning signs (or any standardized public signs) shouldn’t be abused, as their meaning gets diluted.

And for that matter I don’t think advertisement should work on a whatever-it-takes basis. Using a warning sign to gain attention is a desperate means, not a clever idea.

This idea was already done by Di Massimo (sp?) in NYC for I think Duvel beer.

I reckon that it is a good way to grab attention, nevertheless there is a problem which is using a fake warning sign for comercial purposes but i think that they could’ve designed a kind of slipery sign that would have worked the same way. In fact, im not sure if i wouldve paid attention to this one in particular.

      Cheers

I think it’s a good idea. Take into consideration it’s competing with all the other posters in a row. This one is the most outstanding of the lot. I dunno about selling burgers, but at least it sells the brand.
