McDonalds
Designed by ad agency Leo Burnett with the input of an engineer, the billboard features a real sundial whose shadow falls on a different breakfast item each hour until noon, when the shadow of the McDonald’s arches are dead center.

Yeah but where’s the hacked off high school student refusing to serve breakfast 30 seconds after the allocated time :O)
Still nice use of ‘natural advertising’

McDonald Advertising…
Leo Burnett designed for Mac Donald a billboard who features a real sundial whose shadow falls on a different breakfast item each hour. Great idea, maybe too sharp for Mac!…

The only problem is how the shadow moves after noon…. and how effective is this advertisement idea during the night.
Still, very unique and original.

I likey. But why they hell did they have to hire an engineer to figure that out? Pretty basic stuff. But big agencies DO love to spend money, don’t they?

So, what does the billboard do for the other 18 hours of the day? And what kind of message does it send on cloudy days?
So the gag will work for less than 25% of the duration of the billboard? Is Wrigelyville most crowded between 6 AM and Noon? Doesn’t seem a very efficient use of the medium to me. Seems more like a gimmicky outdoor ad that Burnett and Huff are milking for some publicity and industry buzz. Because agencies love to pat themselves on the back, whether or not they’ve done anything worth congratulations.

Fucking Awesome. Visite o site. […]
