This is in San Francisco! The first picture is actually right next to my work’s building which happens to be McCann Erickson, an ad agency. We were wondering why they had covered the pole with that animal print! Really cool how I came upon this picture.
This works well if the Zoo’s logo includes a Giraffe (which it does) or if it’s Giraffe Week or Month at the Zoo….. making Giraffes the main attraction.
Other outdoor implementations on objects on the street other than a lamp-post can be used for the other animals.

Nice… could work for pythons too perhaps, though they don’t have half the charisma of giraffes.

i think its an interesting idea to see these ‘giraffes’ dotted in the city. a sure way to grab children’s (and parents for that matter) attention.

I took work in SF an at agency.. and I haven’t seen these ads anywhere else except along “agency row.” Has anyone else see them other places?

//Wish there could have been a bottom version to it as well. //
Agreed. At the very least, they could have placed some fake giraffe poop next to the pole.

I like it, i think it works great with the purpose of the arrival of the giraffes and the way they played with ideas works for both kids and dads.
Its one of those publicity stunts that remains in your mind.
The only down side is that it is quite limited for giraffes, nevertheless they could easely put some monkeys on top in the future.
