Not sure if this is fake or not, but it would be an interesting change to the logo. It looks a little too childish in my oppinion. Can anyone varify is this is their new logo? What do you guys think?

I do no is it fake or not, but I heard that they changed the logo. I think the new one is more “signal” like not the “signal bridge” on old one. It feels like FM signals changed to AM signals with their gaps Yes looks childish.
Definitely reminds me od some kindergarten Web 2.0 service The old logo is all about confidence and seriousness, the new one seems like advertising a child monitoring solution that goes into a taling doll. What were they thinking?
Joe Finocchiaro and Jerry Kuyper did the rebrand for cisco which from what I have been told will be officially released on October 2. If this is the official version then i think it is a reallt nice progression on the old design.
But of corse a brand is much more than just the logo, so i am very interested to see how the new design is rolled out across the companies print and digital media.
ooooh. I like it a lot! And I almost never like logo re-dos. But the simplicity of this one is really nice. And the bubbli-ness gives a nice soft edge to a company that is incredibly technical. And I like the new blue much better than the old teal.
Plus - that giant block of heavy color just for the sake of showing a “bridge” that looks like a frequency has always troubled me in the old one.
I know it’s stated the new one feels “childish” but I think that could easily be fixed by picking a less futura-like type and something that is a bit more complex in shape. But I do like the sans-serif.
I like the ideas behind the redesign - the name moved, the signal/bridge simplified, etc, but I am not sure I like the execution… does anyone else see a hand w/fingers sticking up? It was the first thing I saw…
It does look childish, I think if they flattened up the edges to the bridge and choose a different type face that isn’t so round, they will be able to avoid it.
I do like how much negative space there is in the logo, it carries your eye through out the whole piece.
I like that it doesn’t have a ®. It would be hard to add one without ruining it. Maybe they’ve realized that nobody would want to use their logo on a competing product or lit, except counterfeiters: who would just use the logo along with the ®. The ® is a silly dinosaur. I applaud them for leaving it out.
The sad thing is that the old one kinda needs the ® for interest.

Having had Cisco as a client before, I can tell you, designers everywhere are rejoicing. That old, blocky thing was a bitch to work with. Also, butt-ugly. Is the new one the greatest? Meh. But it’s a damn sight better than the old one.
Clearly, Arcane from the September 25th, 2006 at 4:08 am post claiming to be a Cisco employee, is completely full of shit. Since, as time has shown, this most definitely IS Cisco’s new logo. That is all. Carry on.
I like the new Cisco IP phone (7940) with the new logo printed on on top and the big LCD showing the old logo ten times the size of the printed one. That’s Corporate Identity!

I hope for Cisco it’s not the new logo!
The old one need only a font redesign… the new is too much innovative.

I think just about anything would look better than the old one.

The before was certainly more proffessional. But the second one seems to be a little more modern.
But yea, web 2.0 kinda does come to mind on this one. Which doesnt really go well with a big company like cisco.

the logo is real, it doesn’t seem to be corporate enough (doesnt fit the company)

The new and old one look crap…

Just take a look at http://www.cisco.com
The new logo is there. It’s real
October 2nd, 2006 at 10:02 am
It is true. As of October 2, Cisco’s web site now reflects their new “high tech meets Fisher Price” branding.
