[…] Soon across Canada The Salvation Army 2006 Christmas Ad Campaign will launch. The ads are already starting to circulate and be talked about online. Today the Advertising/Design Goodness blog featured them as well as The publicity and marketing blog Glossy. Check out the ads below and let us know what you think of them. You can also view the television component to the campaign on YouTube. […]
I really hate to play the advertising sheriff but this has been done already three years ago. It even won a lion at cannes. The only reason why I’m sayin’ this, is because the other one was much better done. Does anybody have a link for it? The headline was practicly the same, big difference was that there was nobody to see. Only an empty street, an empty bench, with the headline next to it. It was very clever. More clever than this one.
H. I thought I had seen something like this before - I wonder if I’m thinking of the ads you speak of.
I do really like the overall blue tones to the images in these though. They leave me feeling cold, empty and sad. Perfect use of color to evoke an emotional response.
