A driver from a distance will see a police car hiding behing a billboard, as the police typically do in Turkey/ thus the driver instinctively slow down or make sure that they are going at the legal speed limit. When they come closer they are able to read the billboard text:
Pay your traffic tickets on time without waiting in line - isbank.com.tr
However just as they pass the billboard they will realize that there really isn’t a police car hiding there. That actually is a full size reproduction of a police car which is a part of the billboard.

That’s a GREAT idea. They should try that here in the US.

I doubt people’s attention will be on the sign when a pigs car grabs there focus and pumps them full of adrenaline.

Except in the U.S. it should read around the lines of “GOTCHA! Be glad it wasn’t for real. Worrying about being caught next time? You don’t…just OBEY THE LAW!”
Actually cops actual do these types of optical illusions just without any words. (kind of more effective)
I got an idea for rubbernecking
above a reproduction of an accident the sign would read: “HEY! what are you look at? KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD!”
seriously many road signs here have a neutral tone when it comes to intructions. (read like printed words rather than verbal dirrections for example, you wouldn’t say “no turn on red” casually out loud you would say “hey! no turning on a red signal!”)
anyway this campaigns pretty clever.

i like the idea, but its kind of a stretch fitting it in with the product.

I have always wondered why the police don’t do this in general - create optical illusions that would make a driver think they saw an officer waiting for speeders.. would increase the police’s ability to make you concerned about getting a ticket without actually adding more staff…

This is not a new outdoor ad. I think the campaign has been published at 2001 or something. It is too old. The agency was Rafineri.
