Check out the new Volkswagen campaign by CP+B, some very interesting appoach on selling cars. The suicide one migtt raise some hairs just like it did for the superbowl GM spot.

I don’t know… it doesn’t seem to me anywhere near a brilliant idea!
There is a lot of advertising already exploring the idea that the product announced is more important or brings more happiness than things most people would put first: marriage, family, life itself.
It doesn’t seem to me something above the car advertising average quality.
Interesting how these seem to have touched a nerve. You know, it’s just the message… “VW’s low prices will make you feel good.” That’s all… yeah, the suicide is way too edgy, and I heard it’s been pulled in the US, but hey, the others are just caricatures. Good, memorable stuff, and for the last two at least,, quite well handled.
[…] What is more interesting is the how Volkswagen is marketing cars. It looks like they go back to the roots. A good low priced car affordable for everyone. View the complete serie of ads (3) @ Adgoodness. […]
When someone says, “Three burgers for $8.” I think I’m going to get three burgers… So when they yell, “Three V-dubs for $17,000,” aren’t we supposed to get ALL three for $17,000?

I think these commercials are really stupid.

Those damn Brits did it MUCH better years ago with their VW “price” campaign.

These feel very contrived. Who drives around shouting ad copy out the car window? C’mon…

VW’s been spreading themselves pretty thin with positioning. First safe, then fast, now cheap. Where next?
