This ad is trying to sell mayo…with an image of spaghetti. Do people eat spaghetti with mayo? Whatever the case, there is absolutely no connection at all. This ad leaves the audience thinking…well, nothing. Waste of the advertiser’s money.
I think it’s a fantastic ad! Everybody else seems disgusted, but I think that’s kind of the point. Personally, I detest mayonnaise. I’ll eat it only when its vile flavor is masked by something else (i.e. tuna fish or if it’s mixed with mustard or some other flavor) And I consider myself a foodie!…oops.
Anyway, back to the ad. I think that it completely accomplishes what it set out to do- get you to see what it’s selling, and get you thinking. Without any flashy words or even a big picture of the product in its normal setting. It’s showing everyone that with the new clean-wipe squeeze bottle, you can squirt it on whatever you want and it comes out all clean and neat just like spaghetti. Kids will think it’s fun, neat freaks will think it’s satisfying, moms and other busy people with children will be thankful for its lack of mess, and I’ll be thankful it’s not on my plate!
guys, i’m pretty sure it’s not so much about the mayo on spaghetti but a play on the fact that Heinz is mainly all about the ketchup. I saw that and went ‘huh. Heinz makes mayo?
anyway to be fair, the concept is pretty gross. BUT it got my attention.
well what can i say, i used to like mayo untill i saw that advert with the puffs. i wonder if it is realy still mayo in the jar or man fat??? my child was most confused when he saw one of those kids on the advert call a bloke mum then the other 1 gave him a kiss. just what is the world coming to??? to display content like that on the telly is just wrong and sick to the men who are strate.
do yourselves a favour and close down your sperm bank of a factory!!!

I hate store-bought mayo, so I’m biased. But that image truly disgusts me.

Belgians will put mayonnaise on anything. But since they invented french fries AND waffles, I can overlook the spaghetti/mayo thing.

it’s pretty clever, though there isn’t much concept behind it.
