Urban Typography
Some great photographs of buildings that create the illusion of typography. Type the Sky by Lisa Rienermann is an alphabet formed of shapes buildings make against the sky when photographed from below. Now i hope that someone comes up with an application where you can create your name with it.

A LOT of people are misattributing this work to Jack Turner, who merely posted about this to thought bucket without citing the source (according to his digg comment).
The work is entitled “Type The Sky” and is the original work of German designer Lisa Rienermann, created while studying at the University of Duisburg-Essen (which is not far from where I live). Her portfolio can be found at www.lisarienermann.com

I love this work, and when I say work, I mean work, this must have taken a great deal of time to complete, but it shows. It would be interesting to see also if other shapes could be found from the tops of buildings. I should really start looking up more…

Wow! Kudos to the photographer! This must have taken patience and a darn good eye for photography. Very creative. The coolest series I’ve ever seen yet.
