New Photoshop Logo
I really don’t know what to say about this logo. At first it looks like some kind of web 2.0 company, and I don’t really understand what it has to do with graphics!
“To represent this rich family of products, Adobe is introducing the Photoshop visual logo. This logo will soon appear in all Photoshop-related marketing, so keep an eye out for it. The Photoshop logo on a product, service, or technology, represents the rich legacy, technical quality, and attention to detail that has made Photoshop the gold standard in digital imaging.”
What are your thoughts on this?

it’s butt-ugly, looks cheap 2.0.

Doesn’t blow me away, but I like it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that use of a hole in the middle of a talk bubble…obviously eluding to a window to new possibilities in communication.
Logo aside, I really like Adobe’s video presentation of how different people use Photoshop. Again, nothing ground-breaking, but a nice testimonial-style execution.

It’s a hideous beast of a logo. Repulsive. Derivative, uninspiring and outdated.

That logo will date in 2 seconds flat. Boring and pointless… kinda like half the tools they add on with every new release… can’t wait for CS4 extended… it comes with a servant who will run down to the shops and get your coffee while you try to figure out how to make the sky blue!!!

I think it looks like the TM sign is saying something…that turns out to be a hole.

You have to see this: http://www.vosbroekema.nl/wp-content/uploads//2007/08/bubble_hell3.jpg to know what I think. It is a collection of logo’s which are quite the same…

Just dumb.

Looks like the ichat icon with a hole in it. Considering the impact Photoshop has on the design industry, you’d think its logo should be transcendent. But its just another 2.0 piece of crap. Sad.

Adobe has really been dropping the ball lately. They’ve been watering down their brand left and right with pointless line extensions (Photoshop regular, premium or extended?). They’ve been haphazardly naming things with initials, a BIG no-no in branding. What the hell is Au? Ff? Id?
Even their interface has been changed to have an odd, klunky, Windows-like feel, even when using a Mac.
K.I.S.S.=Keep It Simple, Stupid.
My theory is this has something to do with the Macromedia merger. Those guys have had crappy branding for a long, long time, and they spread their poison to Adobe. Macromedia were the same guys whose branding mishaps strangled Aldus’ beloved FreeHand, once an industry standard.
Quark has a really big opportunity here to fight back. Adobe and Quark are looking like mid-’90s Microsoft and Apple, respectively.

Just plain bad. The only thing I like is the typeface used for “Photoshop”, but it’s terrible for and Adobe logotype.

I hate the fact it’s used for Photoshop.
It looks like the the PBS P-head remixed.
The shape alone it’s quite unique but as a letter it just doesn’t work.
