The main title “Ou tu es, Nous sommes la” means “Wherever you are, we’re there”. On the man’s body there are words like “Notre Histoire deviendra legende” (Our story will become a legend) “Ensemble nous sommes invincibles nous deux” (Together the two of us are invincible). “Tu ne seras jamais seul. Toujours fidele” (You’ll never be alone. Always faithful)

      ;)

Even when you can read French, this is tough at this size. The arms have faces and some writing, and the legs have people’s names on them. The shorts are more or less legible:

      City of light
Let’s go (as opposed to allons-y!)
      Our story will become legend
      Together we are invincible
This is for the life here, it’s Paris (not sure about this one)
      You will never be alone
      Always true

The tag says “where you are, we are there” and uses the friendlier “tu” rather than “vous”. My guess is that the tag is a soccer chant in France… which suggests that the other phrases are soccer chants too.

      Voila!

More research… Emirates Air sponsors the Paris soccer team PSG (Paris St. Germain).

      Enough already!

Charlie you’re perfectly right, these are the songs parisian supporters sing in “Parc des Princes”.
      The whole song is :
“Allez Paris allez paris, où tu es, nous sommes là !
Tu ne seras jamais seul, car nous deux c’est pour la vie !”
“Let’s go Paris, where you are we’ll be there,
you’ll never be alone, cause between us, it’s for lifetime !”
Nice piece of marketing by Nike. Unfortunately the club’s results are not as good as expected…

I’m not sure about the flourishes. But I suppose they’re needed, otherwise the body would have seemed stiff.

And the type-designed body looks like it’s headless.

Those crits aside, it is an inventive use of typography.
