"Oh, that is really unfortunate..." :)

Call me biased, but I love the Mac adds and this one is at the top of the list... "Interactive" almost...

Brilliant creative. But when I went to cnet to see it for myself, only the top leaderboard banner appeared. No accompanying mac & pc banner. Made absolutely no sense without it. Disappointing.

Don't like it... for me, it had the same effect as if I were walking through a mall: it was a background conversation that I paid attention to aurally, but was not focused on the visual importance of the ad, which completely shelled the focus of the ad.

The user completely tunes out banner ads... I didn't even realize they were referencing something in particular until someone in the office pointed it out to me. I had already scrolled past it by the time it played.

The technical execution is great, but the result is completely useless: it's still a banner ad. People will find it cute and clever, but nothing about having two banners that play with each other will drive more people to a site (especially after this practice becomes commonplace, which it will - addies are obsessed with crap that does nothing).

If we're really going to move in the direction of greater interactivity and integration scale, we're better off rethinking how online ads work altogether.

FYI, the ad is running on Engadget (www.engadget.com/) right now... much less targetted placement, but still with a ton of broad appeal.

I think the ad is brilliant, really detailed work, like how PC and Mac get lit up when the sign first comes on, and the power cord on the left of the sign. It's also different, and one of the few banner ads I've ever paid full attention to.

First rate stuff...
