the first one is ok.. It is a one off lets face it…
ketchup is a hard product to do. these aren’t ground breaking. i like the ads where you see ketchup on the edge of the place and the edge of the place has a bite taken out of it. those were creative. i don’t want to see tomatoes in ketchup ads. it’s a given, go out there. get creative.
I disagree the best product i ever saw like this was a tabasco sauce ad where instead of throwing molotov cocktails they were throwing tobasco and it was the only thing red while everything was black and white in what looked like a grainy riot ap photo.
I mean ketchup is the american staple of dinner time food, it’s been here for a long time and been part of the american tradition.. just like that ford truck commercial where it from ww1 on the range to the present day on the range… Theirs so much to work from thats beyond just what the container looks like. People just need to have a little guts in taking a risk. Well that’s my two cents. That and I am sure they were forced to have to have the bottle in there as the hero…

The first one works best. Very subtle yet persuaive.
I’m with Joseph. Ketchup has been the American staples since the beginning. Only a tiny minority of the population don’t put ketchup on their food – Heinz need to tackle that market.
I don’t feel the concept pushed the envelope, but great Art Direction makes up for it on the first two. The third should have been Scrapped.
I love the typeface – can anyone ID it?
I can’t help but think that this resembles the Absolut Vodka ads http://absolutad.com/pictures/?id=2576.
It’s like they took the same concept and dyed it red. A little unoriginal – don’t you think?
The 2nd poster is claimed to be a rip-off from DDB Istanbul’s 3 year old Tat Ketchup ad.
You can see both ads at Bigumigu.com:

That’s great i think the seeds are kinda lame though.

Like them all, except for the last one. Seems a bit forced and somewhat confusing. I might think it was an ad for Heinz brand tomato seeds.
