Although funny, I don’t really know who this ad is targeting. If it’s women, they are shit out of luck. Offensive stereotype. Doesn’t surprise me that is was written by a man. It would make men laugh if they saw it in Maxim, but then again, not too many men are buying tampons for their girlfriends unless forced to.

A tired, sexist, offensive joke.
Here’s a tip: If your ad is going to offend someone with a tired stereotype, make sure the offended group is not also the group you’re trying to sell to.
Ugh.

in the words of neil french… “always know your audience”. this ad apparently doesn’t care to… seems like a bad joke that was mentioned at the bar and somehow made it through all the stages of approval.

[...] que no veÃa una publicidad tan machista como esta de Panadol Menstrual. Además, como comentan en AdGoodness, es poco inteligente ofender a su público objetivo. La agencia responsable es Ogilvy & Mather [...]

Reaction to stereotypes is culture sensitive too. In the US this would definitely tick off most people. I see that this is targeted in Singapore (looking at google). In Asia I can say from experience women taking offense, but finding this pretty damn funny and creative for the ad to work.

I’m a woman and I think it’s funny.
Some of us have a sense of humour.
Oh, and Christian - I think you’ll find it’s selling menstrual pain medication, not tampons.
