Agency: Le Bureau Stockholm, Sweden video of the weekAdidas FlipbookMonday, September 29th, 2008
Adidas was an Official Partner of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and their brand positioning was – ‘When 1.3 billion people get behind their athletes Impossible is Nothing.’ The agency in Hong Kong was briefed to create an original print campaign to extend the adidas China Olympic corporate campaign; one that would specifically reflect and support local Hong Kong athletes. Hong Kong’s greatest medal hopes were tabled tennis dua, Ko Lai Chak and Li Ching, they won silver at the Anthens Olympics. Through the adidas website they invited the public to be photographed playing table tennis shots like their heroes. All the best poses were then bound to make a flip-book and mounted against a stadium background on youth magazine, Milk. The double-sided flip-book perfectrly captured the essence of the brand idea, that athletes are made greater by the people’s support. I wasn’t going to post this new “viral” video for Diesel’s anniversary party, but i want to put a different perspective on things. Im not sure what your opinions are but to me its a total copy of the SFW-porn (sfw-porn.com). Therefore I’m NOT a fan of this, and hope it doesn’t win any awards. Sure they went the distance to actually animate a video for this but to me that’s still not enough. We all have inspirations from other things, but when does an idea just become an adaptable execution? Love to hear your thoughts on this! Alrighty than! The Seinfeld and Bill Gates spots are officially off the air now, and now its time for the “teasers” to pack it in and let the real creative roll out. The strategy “Im a PC”, and NO im “NOT boring”. These spots have parody written all over them already. “Hello… Im infected again”, or “Hello, I crash all the time”. Feel free to add your own variety to the comments. I get that this is a branding attempt to change people perception on Microsoft, but they don’t mention any MS products in the spot only that they are PC’s. Agency: Crispin Porter, Miami |
