This ad could be construed as racist and stereotyping in nature. I personally think it is cleaver. I had an asian roommate in college and he used to call people “racist” all the time. American’s tend to see racism as only black and white, but it really constitues all races.

As an Asian, I don’t see why this is racist. That looks JUST LIKE the hat I put on everyday before I head out into the rice fields. Oh, and your laundry and railroads are ready. Pick them up at 3pm.

Sorry, but I don’t get it. And how is this image taken? The background and the people are exactly the same??

Wow, I saw this earlier and I couldn’t stop thinking about how this can easily be seen as racist. Not impressed.

Where are her coke-bottle glasses and bucked teeth?

This is racist college humor, not actual advertising. It’s a photoshop comp, for sure.

Regardless of whether it’s racist, its lame.

What’s so racist about depicting a conical hat. After all, it IS Asian.

The advertisement itself isn’t “racist.” What disturbs me is the fact that someone would even bother to distort the image into something that many would consider racist. What kind of message does that say about society today?
